Magnetical is owned and run by Merlin Goldman, a chartered bioengineer who specialises in helping companies to innovate. With experience of working in industry, government, and academia, I have a broad working experience. As one of Innovate UK's first Technologists, I was at the coal face of enacting the UK Government's new approach to innovation.
I worked there for 9 years after a research career working for PPL Therapeutics, Serologicals (now Millipore), and Wyeth (now Pfizer). At Innovate UK, I invested £100 million of public funds through various investment vehicles, including the Industrial Biotechnology Catalyst. After leaving Innovate UK, I worked as the Centre Manager for QET Labs, Bristol University's quantum HQ.
